About

Since graduating from Loyola University School of Law in 2008 I have practiced law as an associate and, as of January 1, 2015, a Member of Denechaud and Denechaud, L.L.C., with a particular emphasis in the following areas of law:

Real Estate Transactions, Title Insurance, Land Use, Ad Valorem Taxation, Real Estate Finance, Commercial Transactions, Corporate Law, Non-profit Law, Construction Law, Employment Law, and Successions.

In my practice I have represented many clients, both corporate and private, in commercial and residential real estate transactions including the acquisition and sale of many commercial properties in the City of New Orleans and throughout the State of Louisiana, land use and zoning matters, including variance applications, conditional use, zoning applications and resubdivisions, and drafting and negotiating commercial and residential leases. In connection with many closings I have acted as both closing attorney and title insurance agent issuing policies underwritten by First American Title Insurance Co., through our firm's title insurance agency, Surety Land Title, L.L.C.

I have also served as Owner’s counsel in commercial financing transactions including refinancing existing HUD/FHA-insured mortgages of multi-family housing and health care facilities and corporate bond transactions. I have advised corporate clients in mergers and acquisitions and in other general corporate matters including drafting Articles of Incorporation and By-laws.

My litigation experience includes defending lien claims, tax sale matters, boundary disputes, quiet title actions, construction matters, tort defense, and employment matters including FMLA and other discrimination claims. I have also represented clients in adoption and interdiction proceedings.

I also hold a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Major in Finance having graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University New Orleans in 2005.  In representing clients in both real estate and corporate transactions I am able to utilize this degree in providing legal services with an understanding of the financial implications of the transaction.

I currently serve as a member of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Real Estate Committee, and as a member of the National Diocesan Attorneys Association having been appointed to both by, and serving at the pleasure of, Most Rev. Gregory M. Aymond, D.D., Archbishop of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. My wife Shelly and I have one daughter, Ruth. We are parishioners of Most Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church.
