Denechaud and Denechaud has served the Greater New Orleans Area's legal needs since 1901, when Charles I. Denechaud (1879 – 1956) established the firm. In 1937 he was joined in the practice of law by his son, Charles I. Denechaud, Jr. (1912-1999). In 1966, Charles I. Denechaud, III, (Dene’) joined the firm and eventually became its Managing Member. In 2015, Members, Richard A. Bordelon and Todd R. Gennardo, succeeded Dene’ and continue Denechaud and Denechaud’s rich tradition of legal service along with attorneys Otto B. Schoenfeld, Dylan K. Knoll, and Ian P. Gunn.

Surety Land Title, L.L.C.:
Our firm also owns and operates Surety Land Title, L.L.C., a full-service title agency offering escrow, closing, and title insurance services for real estate transactions. Through this agency, our firm has represented many clients in routine as well as complex real estate and mortgage-lending transactions.
For many years, Denechaud and Denechaud has offered its clients a unique alternative to traditional law firm-client relations. Many of the firm’s clients have established alternative fee arrangements allowing for a greater level of access to legal advice, which time has shown results in a diminished likelihood of legal disputes and litigation.
Alternative billing arrangements over the long-term can result in cost savings to the client, among other efficiencies. In addition, having an established and ongoing relationship with our clients allows our attorneys to better anticipate each client’s particular legal needs by providing historical context in terms of the client’s business, which enables our attorneys to more fully understand each client and to better represent their unique legal interests in matters as they arise. Our firm has represented many of our clients for decades. We attribute our long-term client relations to our firm’s commitment to keeping our client’s budget in mind all while being thorough and practical in providing legal advice aimed to result in an efficient strategy and solutions to resolve the issues presented.
For those clients with in-house counsel, our firm adds a secondary layer of legal support providing an outlet for in-house counsel to consult with other attorneys and also freeing in-house counsel to focus on operational and other day-to-day legal concerns with the ability to delegate to our firm for assistance other matters requiring particular expertise and/or requiring devotion of significant resources, all while maintaining continued collaboration with our attorneys as to the overall legal strategy and ultimately resolution.
